SUBANG JAYA: Police have busted a luxury car theft and robbery syndicate with the arrest of two men.
They also recovered four stolen cars worth RM2mil, including a Porsche.

The modus operandi is to break into houses before driving away with the victims’ luxury cars.

“Further investigations led us to a Porsche and Chevrolet that were reported stolen in July and August in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
It is learnt that the syndicate is active in Subang Jaya, Gombak, Brickfields and Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
The syndicate is believed to have four members. Police are now looking for the other two members.

Robbers shot dead after car chase
RAWANG: Four highly wanted armed robbers-cum-rapists were gunned down when they charged at police with parangs and sickles after being cornered following a car chase here.
The men, all Indonesians, had defied police warnings to surrender. Instead, they ran towards the policemen during the 6.45am in- cident yesterday.
The group was believed to be involved in at least 15 robberies and rapes in the Klang Valley, said Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar.
“This was a very violent group and they did not hesitate to hurt or rape their victims during robberies.
“We strongly believe they were the ones who broke into the home of Muar Umno division committee member Datuk Kadar Shah Sulaiman Ninam Shah on June 21, where the maid was also raped,” said DCP Khalid.
Police had received a tip-off that four men in a car were be- having suspiciously near the Selayang wet market at around 6.15am.
A police patrol from the Selangor serious crimes division was sent there and they saw the four in a gold Proton Waja.
Before police could approach them, the car sped off, and a high-speed chase ensued.
The car exited at Rawang enroute to Kuang, and the driver even switched off his lights to try to avoid detection.
Instead, the car ended up in a drain. The suspects hurried out from the car and charged at the policemen with weapons, after which police opened fire.
Police recovered three machetes, a sickle, two screwdrivers and a metal cutter from the group.
DCP Khalid said police believe there were still several other gang members at large, and were investigating if the group had committed crimes in other states.
He added that the gang members would normally return to Indonesia after amassing enough money from the robberies here.

The ambush was set up when the hotel staff came across a Toyota Hilux earlier in the morning which they suspected was stolen.
An ambush was set by a team of Selangor police as it was believed that the thieves had parked the car there to wait for a buyer.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said police spotted three men in a heavily-tinted Toyota Camry entering the area and circling the car park suspiciously.
The suspects panicked when they saw the cops and tried to reverse but a police car had blocked their way.
ACP Arjunaidi said the thieves rammed the police car and managed to escape, forcing the policemen to fire two shots.

Drug-trafficking couple nabbed
KUALA TERENGGANU: A drug-trafficking couple who brought their five-year-old son along during a sale worth about RM150,000 at a mosque were arrested by police.
Terengganu police chief Senior Asst Comm 1 Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said yesterday the police arrested the 47-year-old woman while she waited for her customer at the mosque compound at about 4.15pm on Tuesday. The son was with her.
He said the woman’s 46-year-old husband who was waiting for them in a car parked near the mosque at Kampung Padang Nenas was also apprehended.
‘‘Their child was placed in a police lock-up here as he wanted to be with them,’’ he said.
SAC Mohd Shukri said the woman was caught having 100 plastic bottles containing Grade Three type of heroin.
He said the couple has been remanded until next Monday to facilitate investigations. Police got wind of the couple’s drug-peddling activities following the arrest of a 44-year-old man at a house in Chabang Tiga on Monday.
During Monday’s raid, SAC Mohd Shukri said police also confiscated 21.6g of heroin and 200 psychotropic pills.
He said the man is believed to be a member of a drug trafficking syndicate that was busted recently.

11 Nigerians held in drug raids
KUALA LUMPUR: Eleven Nigerian students and a local woman, believed to be involved in drug trafficking, were arrested by police during four separate raids in the Klang Valley early yesterday.
The suspects, in their 20s, were arrested by officers from the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division.
During the first raid at a condominium in Subang Jaya at 6am, police found a Nigerian with 1kg of heroin and 98 capsules believed to be heroin, weighing 1kg. Following the arrest, police raided another condominium in Petaling Jaya and arrested four Nigerians and a local woman, but no drugs were found on them.
The woman was believed to be the companion of one of the suspects.
In a subsequent raid at a condominium in Sentul an hour later, police arrested five Nigerian men believed to be associated with those arrested earlier.
Another Nigerian man was arrested in Nilai at 8am. According to sources, the modus operandi of the group was to swallow capsules containing drugs and later excrete them before selling the drugs to users.

New police base for Danau Kota
RESIDENTS of Wangsa Maju can look forward to a new community police base at the Danau Kota police depot in Wangsa Maju before the end of the year.
This was the assurance given by Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Zakaria Pagan when he met the public, including representatives of various non-government organisations, at the Danau Kota police station yesterday.
Zakaria said he was studying the logistics concerning the requirements for opening a community beat in the depot and that it was only a matter of time before the beat was set up.
Meeting with the police: Mohan (fourth from left), Yew (fifth from left), Zakaria (seventh from left), Yew’s service centre executive secretary Lim Choon Hong (eighth from left) and members of the NGOs and the public outside the Danau Kota police station. “I can say that it has been very positive and we understand the need to have one (base) here,” Zakaria said.“This is an ideal location to have the base and it would be very convenient for the public,’’ said Wangsa Maju MCA division chairman Datuk Yew Teong Look, who initiated the meetings to push for the base, adding that were 60,000 people living in the area.
According to Yew, the Wangsa Maju area is notorious for crime, especially snatch thefts, car thefts and house break-ins. A representative of the residents of the Langkawi Apartments in Setapak Garden, Jaswant Singh, said it was big relief to hear about the police beat base. “We need it. This is a big area and we need all the help we can get from the police,” he said.
Wangsa Maju MIC division chairman S. Mohan said the police beat was a necessity and he was confident that the public would make full use of it. “People tend to dislike lodging reports at the police station, but with a beat base right in the middle of the neighbourhood, things would be easier.

SJ Alert EMS Two burglars caught in SS14/8
Just less than 24 hours after the launch of "Subang Jaya Towards a Safe Neighbourhood" by JKP Zone 1, the SS17 police force stormed into action.
This time around, based on a tip-off from a resident, two patrol cars headed straight to the house along SS14/8 and caught themselves, not ONE but TWO amateur cat burglars.
Aged 27 and 16 (Yes! One of them is under-aged), both suspects were found crouched on the roof, hiding from our men in blue.
The duo had apparently gained entry from the roof and were spotted by a neighbouring resident. He called the police and within minutes, they caught the two.
It wasn't a roof-to-roof chase but one wondered how such criminals can make their way around on the rooftop. Our roving reporter cum cameraman took the climb on the roof to bring you rooftop pix of the duo handcuffed and surrounded by three policemen. Climbing that height itself already started making the legs shiver, what more for these guys climbing from one roof to another.
An axe was found on the scene, apparently used to break the window grills to make their escape.
So...TWO down, many more to go....
Kudos to our men in blue for their speedy and enthusiastic response to a distress call.
